Taryn MacGregor

I have vacationed on Block Island in the summer for over 15 years, have been a seasonal worker for the last 6 years, along with transitioning to year round Island residency this past winter. The Island's magic has never stopped growing on me.

I grew up in my mother's gardens in a lush property on the South Coast of Massachusetts in a historical and whimsical town called Fairhaven. I’ve spent lots of time with my hands in the dirt by the ocean. Little did I know that I would be owning my own business, participating in the very same thing, just this time, on Block Island.

I have always had an affinity for plants of all kinds but my true passion and my deep respect is for the soil and the land. I learned how to garden from my mother, using ancient organic and natural materials to uphold the richness of our old farm-houses already plentiful dirt.

Opaline Landscaping and Gardening, my LLC, is proud to continue cultivating the most sustainable, holistic and ethical gardening practices. I bring harmony to the soil, and therefore to the plants of our island's community.
