Empowering The Block Island Arts Community

We believe that everyone is an artist; that everyone is a maker. We hope that in getting to know our members and appreciating their work, you will be encouraged in your own creative path.

This site is a hub that connects you with Block Island’s creative community, showcasing our island artists and makers. Who they are, what they are doing and where they are doing it.

While we recognize that as individuals our artistic skills and abilities are at different levels of growth, we all share in the culture of creating, making and building. By developing our creativity in an area of choice, we embark on a journey of self- enrichment: improving our quality of life, overall happiness and so much more.

At its heart, the Block Island Arts Council is a non-profit, community building organization using all artistic genres as tools for making a joyous, healthier, sustainable and more economically viable community.

We hope you enjoy our site.

The Block Island Arts Council is proud to collaborate with the Rhode Island School of Design, the Spring Street Gallery and with the MacAleer Foundation.
